About Me

l am a wife, mum of four amazing children, and passionate about my photography. l get a huge amount of pleasure from photographing peoples children, as l am preserving precious moments that pass so quickly. Whether a new baby, or your teenager, I'll listen to your ideas, or lead the way so together we get images you will adore. I don't have a studio because I prefer to use natural light where I can. The possibilities are endless, and location shooting is so much fun.

Ethan

At 6 weeks old, Ethan was almost too old for a newborn session, but he was asleep when I arrived, and woke for smiles just as I was getting ready to wrap things up.

Box Frames!

As I'm always looking to provide superb quality products to display images, I was chuffed to bits to find these.

Build quality is, I have to say, immaculate.

NEWBORN WORKSHOP!

Exciting times ahead for me. Along with two other very clever, talented, and well established lady photographers, I am starting my won UK based newborn workshops.

The first one is in Louth, Lincolnshire, and we then intend to travel the UK, taking it far and wide.

It's long overdue, and a year ago we would have jumped at the chance to do a workshop that didn't involve a trip to the States.

Our workshops are under the name of Memories Mentoring, and are full day courses, including 3 newborn set ups, marketing and business talks, as well as editing instruction. Students will also take away a packed, and very exciting goody bag.

You can find out more by visiting the Facebook fan page or contact me directly.

Annabel

Well, if you take a look at the last maternity shoot I did, you'll see how special this little lady is to her mum and dad. And to top it all, she was  fantastic model.

Busy busy!

Wow...I haven't posted for ages! That's terrible....! But good in a way...it's been a bit manic!

Apparently there is a baby boom, and a huge proportion are girls. You'd think it would always be about 50 50, wouldn't you? Very strange...I'd love to know the scientists take on why.
Mind you, it does mean I get to use all the pretty stuff!

Passion..........it counts.

There are always days when, no matter what your job, you simply don't want to get out of bed. I am no different. However, it never lasts long.
Every day I have photography related work to do, whether it be a shoot, editing, paperwork, or orders to process, and one thing resonates through every aspect of it....the passion I feel for what I do.

I know I am in such an amazing position....who else loves their job from start to finish?

I didn't simply decide to be a paid photographer one morning, and pop out and buy all the kit. I began taking pictures years ago, at college. The bug bit then....but was rested while I had my family.

Then about eight years ago, the bug resurfaced with the digital age. I began again, relearning many technical things, while developing my eye, the feel, and the passion. There was no agenda...no plan...I simply loved what I was doing, and loved to share my work with anyone who wanted to see it.

The end result is that I now share my passion with all kinds of people, and am lucky enough to be paid for what I love to do. I cannot tell you how humbled I am by the responses I consistently get to the images I produce for people. I have made dads cry, mums weep, and my own eyes water on a regular basis.

Every image I produce is treasured by me....treated with kid gloves...shaped and molded to be the best it can be.....pressing the shutter is just the beginning. I want to produce images that people will adore and treasure for years to come, that are filled with emotion and personality, and that exceed my clients expectations.

Rest assured...a little bit of my passion will be yours to keep when you book with me...will show in the images I create for you. I am not just a photographer, but an artist.

Mixed Blessings

I have just done the maternity shoot for this lovely couple, Mick and Sam.
Their story is ending beautifully...after a long and painful journey.

A new baby girl is a real blessing after real heartache, and brings such happiness.

Never forgotten is their little lost angel Amelia Grace.
Mum has her tiny footprints tattooed on her belly, so I wanted to be sure to capture this, ensuring Amelia Grace is very much part of story just unfolding for her new sister.

I wish them all the luck in the world, and really really cannot wait to see them again and photograph their new baby.

Claudia

Claudia...well, what can I say?

Delightful....I could spend all day snapping away around her. :)

Harvey

Having already done mums maternity session, it was a joy to go back and finally meet baby. He was a dream model, and the light was perfect.

Dexter

Dexter slept so soundly during the session, he allowed me to try some new things.

Every session is a learning experience, as no two babies are the same, and I must change what I do to get the best from each shoot.
I am finding myself getting better and better at settling, positioning, and thinking of new things, and every time I come away eager for the next one to have that chance to get better still.
I wonder if I will ever consider myself beyond improvement....I don't think so.....I enjoy learning too much.

Kai

They don't come much cuter than this little boy. I could eat him!
The session went so well, and just as I was thinking it was a rap, he started to show he had had enough...perfect timing.

Chantelles Bump

Chantelle was 34 weeks in these photo's. We had fun doing these, and I could resist taking pictures of her little girl.

Now we look forward to the baby arriving safe and sound so I can go back for the newborn shoot.
The fun part is that, unusually with modern scan techniques, mum and dad don't know if baby is a boy or girl yet.

Betty

Well, Betty unttered her first ever giggle not long after I arrived! Mum was quite amazed!
I never just walk in and set up....I connect with the child first, even if they are only 3 months old. I am a new face, and one they need to take in and get used to.
So I began talking to Betty and she giggled away, making me think this shoot would be nothing but giggles and smiles. Ooh how wrong could I be!

Betty soon descended into sleepy mode, and so I told mum it was ok for her to sleep. Within a few minutes of calm rocking Betty was sound asleep, and that's when I was able to get the cute sleepy images.

If there is ones thing I have learned with babies it's that you must not give up....nor apply any pressure......on baby, and more importantly, on mum.
Baby takes all the cues about what is ok, and what isn't from mum...so if mum is stress free, baby will be.

I make sure mum knows there is no rush, and she can relax to settle baby in her own time.

Mum really does know best.

Colby

My first outdoor shoot of the year! My word, it was so warm!

I love these shoots....simply let the child play, and shoot away.

Colby did make me giggle though...the idea is that they ignore me and play, allowing me to move around and get very natural images, but Colby kept running right at me! I had to save his little face from crashing into my lens several times. He was lot's of fun, and I'm looking forward to doing more shoots like this.

Wedding Album

As I'm sure you know, I do weddings too.

I love them....and it is always an honour to be asked.

Well, today I delivered a wedding album to Doug and Emma. Their wedding was on a freezing day in December, and it was such a super day.

The album delighted them, and I am using this opportunity to show the quality of the finished article.

They are handmade with superb print quality and craftsmanship.

I also design the covers, taking an image of the wedding to really personalise each one.

All albums come in a stunning presentation box too.
